Researchers of IIT-Hyderabad developed a tool to detect the use of mobile phones

Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Hyderabad has developed an Artificial Intelligence based algorithms which can detect the usage of mobile phone which are active. This research provides a tool to monitor and automatically detect usage of mobile-phone and time addiction to mobile phones.

This tool can be used to find out whether the mobile phone is being used in the mobile phone prohibited areas such as petrol pumps, courts, exam halls, etc. It can also be helpful in detecting loss or theft of the mobile phones.

Dr Sparsh Mittal of the Computer Sciences Engineering department, IIT Hyderabad had led this research along with his team of scholars Poonam Rajput and Subhrajit Nag.
