″The food is the medicine, the medicine is the food‶, according to Hippocrates, the Father of Medicine B.C.
It is doubtless that what you eat you become‼ If you eat divine food you will become divine. If you eat sick food you will enter to sickness.
Food that we eat can be divided into acidic or alkaline. The residues they leave after metabolism is ash. Based on alkaline or acidic residue food releases, alkaline or acidic ash diet is classified.
Dr. Burg, a renowned biochemist had made scientific research on the alkalinity or acidity. He evinced that one should eat alkaline food rather than acidic food. It is very simple to recognize the quality of your food. Most of the body′s internal system operates in a slightly alkaline environment. As the foods we consume are broken down by digestive tract they leave behind a residue is known as ash. The ash can alter the body′s acidity or alkalinity. The chemical composition of the ash can be either acidic, alkaline or neutral. This should not be confused with the immediate acidity of certain foods. For example, oranges, lemons and other citrus fruits are citric acids in content. When they are ingested and metabolized the effect is to alkalize the body so they can be classified as alkaline forming, acid. Acid ash is produced by meat, poultry, cheese, fish, eggs and grains.
Describes a group of loosely related diets based on the belief that certain foods can affect the acidity of bodily fluids, including the urine or blood, and can therefore be used to treat or prevent diseases. Acidity is measured by the pH level of the bodily fluids.
If food contains water, fibers, space and natural, it is alkaline diet.
Perishable food is alkaline. Fruits, vegetables, sprouts, buttermilk, soaked nuts, dry fruits, etc. are perishable.
To maintain blood cells and tissues alkalinity one must eat atleast 80% alkaline diet. In brief one should consume 80% of food which includes fruits, vegetables, sprouts, milk, etc.
ACIDIC DIET If the food has no property of fibers and space, and not perishable, then it is acidic diet. Non perishable food is acidic. Sugar, salt, chocolates, biscuits, polished grains, soft drinks, etc. are non- perishable. Its nature is acidic with the blood and tissues.
According to the theory, it is in our best interest to make sure more alkaline foods than acid foods, so that we end up with an overall alkaline load on our body. This will be protect us from so many diseases, whereas eating a diet with a net acid load will make us vulnerable to everything from cancer to osteoporosis.
Alkaline and Acidic Ash
Foods do leave behind acid or alkaline ash. The type of ash is determined by the relative content of acid- forming components such as phosphorous and sulphur, alkalis such as calcium, magnesium and potassium.
In general, animal products like meat, poultry, cheese, fish, eggs, and grains are acid ash forming, while fruits and vegetables are alkali ash forming.
Pure fats, sugars, and starches are neutral because they don’t contain protein, sulphur or minerals.
Following an alkaline ash diet means choosing foods and drinks that an alkalizing affect on the body. At least 70% of what we consume should be based on choices that leave an alkaline residue and mineral content in our systems. An imbalance in the pH level can cause essential minerals to be lost and encourage the growth of harmful bacteria, and yeasts.
Alkaline ash foods is rich in sodium, magnesium, potassium, calcium, and iron. A balanced pH level also promotes a healthy small intestinal tract lining that can easily absorb these minerals and nutrients. The rest of our body′s systems can then receive these promptly via healthy cells transporting them where they need to go. Healthy, strong cells can combat viruses, bacteria, and toxins that an otherwise overly acidic environment would leave behind.
