The All India Counselling for Technical Education (AICTE) has launched a new award known as Lilavati Award to acknowledge the efforts undertaken to empower women in the country. The Minister of Education, Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank has launched this award virtually. The award aimed at awarding the efforts taken in the field of women’s development and create ‘equality and fairness’ for women in all spheres of their lives.
The award will be given to individuals and AICTE affiliated institutes for their contribution in the area of women empowerment. The award will be given in the fields of women’s health, literacy, self-defense, legal awareness, and sanitation and hygiene. The candidates can apply for the scholarship till December 31.
The top three winners will be awarded cash prizes and certificates. The first prize winner will get Rs 1 lakh, the second winner will get Rs 75,000 and the third winner will get Rs 50,000.
