The Assam Public Service Commission (APSC) has become the first state commission to introduce the transgender category option in the state civil and allied services examination. This is the first time that APSC has introduces the transgender category in the gender category option. The APSC has also received 42 applications till the last date of submission of the application form.
According to an official, APSC is the first state commission to introduce the transgender category option. Before that, the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has already introduced it in the recruitment process.
