The Government of Uttarakhand has postponed the reopening of the colleges as the Covid-19 Cases increased rapidly. According to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW), there are about 4,147 active cases of Covid-19 at present in Uttarakhand and about 64,032 people have been recovered till date.
The decision has been taken after 80 teachers have been tested positive for Covid-19 in the 84 schools of five blocks of Pauri District in Garhwal Division.
The Health Secretary Amit Negi of the State had instructed the District Magistrates of all the 13 districts to get the COVID-19 tests done for the teachers posted in schools. The Education Department has also issued standard operating procedures (SoP) for the schools.
