The President of India Ram Nath Kovind, in his capacity as Visitor of the Delhi University, has suspended the Vice-Chancellor of DU Yogesh Tyagi on Wednesday. He was accused of misconduct and dereliction of duty.
In this regard, the Executive Council of Delhi University has also decided to form a fact-checking community to probe the whole matter. The university will take action against the people appointed by the suspended VC after October 21.
Member of Executive Council, Rajesh Jha said that the Executive Council has decided to form a fact-finding committee and Prof Geeta Bhatt will be issued a memorandum. It was also decided that Prof P C Jha will not be given any administrative posts. Prof Geeta Bhatt was appointed as Pro-Vice-Chancellor and Prof P C Jha was Acting as the Registrar. Both were appointed by Yogesh Tyagi after October 21.
