The Delhi High Court had stayed the order of the Delhi Government to pay outstanding salaries to staffers of 12 colleges affiliated to Delhi University from the Students Society Fund.
The Delhi University Students Union (DUSU) had challenged the government’s order for colleges to pay the salaries from the student fund and release the amount in two weeks. Considering this the Delhi High Court had stayed the order of the Delhi Government.
The court in its order said that the state should have paid the salary to the college staff without using the students’ funds. The court has also transferred the matter to another court before whom similar matters are pending.
