The Indian Air Force has successfully test-fired the BrahMos supersonic cruise missile from a Sukhoi fighter aircraft. The missile was test-fired in the Bay of Bengal. It had hit a sinking ship and produced the desired results.
The BrahMos missile will equip the IAF to strike on any target at sea or on land with pinpoint accuracy from a long-range. The test-firing of the missile has been done in the wake of India’s tense border like LAC.
The IAF is going to inbuilt BrahMos supersonic cruise missile on over 40 Sukhoi fighter jets which are aimed at bolstering the overall combat capability of the force.
India has test-fired many missiles including an anti-radiation missile Rudram-1. The Rudram-1 is planned to be inducted into service by 2022.
