Harvard University has named the Indian Origin Srikant Datar as the dean of its business school. He is going to become the second consecutive dean of the Institute from India. Mr Datar will begin his service from January 1, 2021.
Since joining the faculty in 1996, Srikant Datar has joined the university as a faculty in 1996 and till then he held a series of key positions like the School’s senior associate dean responsible for faculty recruiting, faculty development, executive education, research and currently for University affairs.
He will succeed Nitin Nohria and will become the 11th dean in the Business School’s 112-year history. Nitin Nohria had to conclude his deanship at the end of June 2020 but he agreed to continue till December due to pandemic.
