Union minister Jitendra Singh has announced that interviews for the Government jobs have been abolished in 23 states and eight union territories. He added that this is a follow-up of abolition of interview for Group-B (non-gazetted) and Group-C posts in the Central government jobs.
On 15 August 2015, PM Narendra Modi had suggested the abolition of interview and to make the selection on the basis of written test. The Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) within three months completed the entire process and announced abolition of interviews in Central Government jobs from January 1, 2016.
