Central government has declared that spouses and children of terror attack victims will now get reservation in MBBS and BDS admissions. This will also be applicable for the academic year 2020-2021. The selections will be based on the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) or other qualifying exam prescribed by the Medical Council of India. The reserved seats will be from the central pool of seats for medical admissions.
Children who are eligible for the central pool of MBBS and BDS seats are those whose direct family member are exposed to substantive risks due to terrorism related assignment, Children of people who have come in the hit list of terrorist organisations and children of such families who have migrated from Kashmir due to the terrorist situation and have lost their means of livelihood.
