The Meghalaya State Government has announced to Re-open the schools in rural areas from December 1 for the students of Classes 6 to 12. The schools in Urban areas will resume for classes 9 to 12. The students will only be allowed to attend the classes only after the written consent from their parents. The information has been given by the Meghalaya Education Minister Lahkmen Rymbui.
The government has allowed the schools to resume their normal classes after following all the SoPs issued by the government. The attendance of the students is not mandatory in the schools as of the current Covid-19 situation. The government has also extended the school’s academic year till February next year.
