The Education Minister of Tamil Nadu KA Sengottaiyan has announced that the half yearly examination would be cancelled for all the government and government aided schools only for this year. The schools in the state are still closed and will remain closed till the next government order.
The Education Minister has also directed the private schools to take their own decisions to re-open the schools. The schools are directed to either cancel the half yearly examinations or conduct them online. Earlier the schools in Tamil Nadu were set to reopen from November 16 but the date was later postponed due to the sudden rise in the number of cases in the past few months.
The government of Tamil Nadu has not yet announced any date for the reopening of schools in the state. The classes and assignment submissions will still take place online.
