Prime Minister Narendra Modi has today inaugurated an Ayurveda Teaching and Research Institute in Gujarat. The PM has virtually inaugurated the newly formed Institute of Teaching and Research in Ayurveda (ITRA) at the Gujarat Ayurveda University, Jamnagar. It has been made through the Act of Parliament.
The ITRA is a merged cluster of four Ayurveda Institutes of the University. It will offer a range of courses a forge inter-disciplinary collaboration to give a contemporary thrust to the ancient medicine system.
According to a press release by PIB, the ITRA will be the first institution with the Institute of National Interest (INI) status in the AYUSH sector, and this will enable the institution to be independent and innovative in the matter of deciding course content and pedagogy.
