The Mizoram Government has ordered to shut all the reopened schools due to the rise in the number of locally transmitted Covid-19 cases. The schools in the state were reopened on October 16 for class 10 and class 12.

The Education Minister Lalchhandama Ralte said that if the situation improves and the chain of local transmission breaks then the schools will likely reopen from November 9. Registrations for next year’s board examinations are under process and online classes will continue.

Mizoram has reported 2,389 coronavirus cases till Saturday and about 195 cases are still active.
