It feels amazing to be a student of one of the most reputed universities in India. Undoubtedly, from polishing your talent to master any of your skills, Delhi University has so much to offer.

With the admission processes of the varsity in progress, students who have made it to the sky-high cut-offs are filled with a lot of dreams and are stepping into their dreamed colleges with a bundle of expectations.

As said by Alexander Pope, “Blessed is he who expects nothing, for he shall never be disappointed.”

But, there is a thing here. How can you expect a genius who has got into the varsity to not have expectations from college life after he has scored excellently well through rummaging herself/himself into books for years?

Well, the genius would expect and enjoy the unexpected everything because it’s Delhi University and fun takes the center stage here. Edukeeda played the Expectation vs. Reality round at Delhi University. See what we found out for you!

Divya Tripathi, a student of Kamala Nehru College said, “Before getting into Delhi University, I used to find out in the newspapers that innumerable celebrities and singers come to these college fests. I was so excited to get in here and participate in college programs so that I can meet whomever celeb comes to my college. It was my first year in college and we had certain rumours like Guru Randhawa is coming to our college. I left my classes and engaged myself in the Student Union work. I worked for a month at least and later on the day of the college fest itself, we got to know that some local band is coming to perform. I can’t describe in words what I felt at that moment. I realized that I am not able to realize anything. All my dreams of seeing Guru live were shattered at once. I never expected anything from my college since then.”

Akansha Ahuja, a student of Gargi College said, “It’s a bit secretive but I should tell you now that I had a lot of expectations of having a super cool group of friends like I used to watch in movies and web series. But, then the miracle happened and I banged into this Girl’s college. It’s fun to be here but what I imagined two years ago and how things are today, is completely different.”

“Before even getting into Delhi University, I started pestering my Dad to buy me a car. I wanted to use it as my royal conveyance to the college. To my surprise, I found out that my college doesn’t have enough space for student’s parking. What now? I ride into the dust and dirt to get here daily”, said Shashwat Kapoor, a student of Rajdhani College.

“I am always into Arts and Fashion stuff. However, we weren’t supposed to do anything extra in our school. I used to hate my school for this. I was waiting to get into college and enter there just like Student of the Year’s Shanaya. Once it happened that I couldn’t complete my assignments and one of my teachers thrashed me like anything. She warned me that I should not come to her class without doing her assignments and focus on studies. She even suggested me to leave college and do some fashion related course. I was so elated that day because I realized that she thinks that I can get into the Fashion industry easily”, said Nisha Sharma, a student of Kamala Nehru College.

Will these expectations turn into reality or not, is something only they can tell. However, students are pretty much-enjoying everything that they have got and something they haven’t.

Tell us in the comment section. We know that you must be having some funny incidents and of course, well-planned expectations. Go ahead and share them here!
